Progressive Era/Movement-People became active to make a better government
Muckraker-A person  alleged scandal about politics
Social Gospel-A protestant Christian in the 20th century that focused on issues of social justice

Graft-A political corruption that can be defined as an unscruploususe of a polition authority of personal gain.

Jane Adams-A pioneer settlement worker and a leader in woman sufferage and world peace.
Immigration Act of 1965-eliminated the quotas that restricted immigreation and focused on the families of immigrants.There are many restrictions on visas to 170,000 per year and per country.
